FINALLY saw Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

A few things:

• I LOVED IT
• The rape/torture scene wasn’t as brutal as I anticipated. This, however, by no means it was easy to watch. It was done tastefully (as all the violence was) though it was all still very visceral.
• The score was great and gave the film an incredible darkness (though it would be plenty dark without it).
• Rooney Mara was great. Granted, I haven’t seen the original Swedish film so I can’t compare the two performances, but she really captured the intricacies and complexity of Lisbeth. Stellan Skarsgard was great too.
• I liked how the ending was changed a bit. Since I have read the book, the mystery of how things would pan out was gone, but it was nice to be surprised a little. The few things they added from the other books (like the scenes with Lisbeth and Palmgren, or the one with her and Mikael where she gives a bit of info on her past) were kinda cool too.
• I’ll never listen to that Enya song the same way again.
