I was gonna do this long post filled with pictures and insight about my favorite movies of 2011, but I ran out of steam halfway through. So I’ll just list them here. Also, keep in mind that I still haven’t seen The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (I know, I know), but I’m sure it would have made it onto the list. 

While I did see a lot of movies in 2011, not many of them really struck me as truly amazing. These five are the ones that I felt gave me the best movie-going experience of this last year. So, without further ado:

1. Drive
2. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
3. The Ides of March
4. Super 8
5. Source Code

As for the worst of the year, it’s a tie between Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Battle: Los Angeles. This “award” would have most certainly gone to Transformers: Dark of Michael Bay’s Ass (or whatever it’s called) but thankfully I never saw that piece of shit.
